Frequently Asked Questions.
What is sleep training?
Sleep training is the process of teaching your child to fall asleep and stay asleep independently. This gentle approach helps establish a comforting bedtime routine and encourages your little one to learn self-soothing techniques. As your child gains confidence in their ability to sleep alone, you'll both experience improved rest and a more peaceful night. Sleep training not only benefits your little one but also brings relief and renewed energy for parents, fostering a healthier family dynamic. With the right guidance, you can help your child develop positive sleep habits that will last a lifetime.
Will my child have to Cry It Out?
At SnugAsABugSleep, I do not believe in the "cry it out" method. Instead, I focus on gentler, evidence-based approaches to sleep training that respect both you and your child’s needs. While some tears may occur during the transition, my methods are designed to be compassionate and supportive. Each sleep plan is customized to fit the dynamics of your family, ensuring a nurturing experience. Most families experience significant improvements in their child’s sleep within just a week, paving the way for restful nights and happier days. Let’s work together to create a peaceful sleep environment for your little one!
I have tried everything, what makes this different?
Navigating online sleep advice can be overwhelming, especially with the countless conflicting tips and one-size-fits-all solutions that don't address your unique situation. At SnugAsABugSleep, I understand that every family has distinct needs and challenges when it comes to sleep. That's why every sleep plan I create is custom tailored to fit your family’s specific circumstances. With my personalized approach, you'll have live access to support as we work together towards your sleep goals. Let us help you find the peaceful nights you deserve!
How long does your program take to see results?
Most families see significant improvement in their child’s sleep within 7 days of beginning the program, and often see a full resolution of their child’s sleep troubles within 14 days. I am committed to helping your family achieve better sleep as quickly as possible with a customized plan tailored to your unique needs!
Note: If you or your child has a disability, this timeline may look a little different. Typically improvements are seen around 7 nights, but depending on your situation, it may take longer for things to fully resolve. If you have any questions about your specific situation please email me at tessa@snugasabugsleep.com
Is it okay to start sleep training while my child is sick?
Sleep training is a significant transition for your baby, and it’s crucial to choose the right time to begin this process. It’s best to wait until your child is healthy and free from any ailments, including common colds or sniffles, as well as teething discomfort. Starting sleep training during these challenging times can lead to added stress for both you and your little one. By ensuring your child is feeling well, you set the stage for a smoother and more effective sleep training experience. Prioritizing their comfort will help them adapt to new sleep patterns with greater ease and improve the chances of success.
Note: This does not apply to any form of disability or disorder. If your child has medical needs that are long-lasting (ie. requires a feeding tube, seizure disorders, etc) this does not prevent us from working together. If you have any questions about your specific situation please email me at tessa@snugasabugsleep.com
